FAQs

  • Anyone who is 18 or over and identifies as a woman (cis and trans inclusive) or a marginalised gender. This includes non-binary people, trans men, intersex people, and any other marginalised gender identity. It is important to note that we do not police gender identity, so if you identify as a woman or other marginalised gender then you are most definitely welcome to our classes.

Please note that whilst we are a strongly LGBTQ+ inclusive space, you do not need to identify as such to join our club and all allies are more than welcome!

  • Our all level classes run on Wednesday evenings (7.15-8.15pm) , Friday evenings (5.30-6.30pm) and Saturday mornings (8.45-10.15am) at The Hideout. These classes are suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to seasoned fighters.

Classes start on the dot so please arrive early so you don’t miss the warm up!

If it’s your first time, or you need a hand getting your handwraps on, please arrive a few minutes before.

Please check the timetable on the booking page to ensure that a class is running.

  • All classes take place at The Hideout Bristol (Unit 2 White St, St Jude's, Bristol BS5 0TS). We get the whole studio to ourselves and there are gender neutral changing rooms.

  • Yes please - all payments are processed through our booking system so please make sure that you book beforehand as we are unable to take cash or card payments on site.

  • Classes are £8 per session, or £35 for a 5 class pass (working out at £7 per class). Please message us on Instagram or Facebook to discuss concession prices if you are on benefits or benefit level income, or if you are a student (student ID required).

  • Please wear comfy clothes and bring a bottle of water. Please also bring a pair of sliders or flip flops to walk around the studios (to go to the toilet, to get water, or to get your gloves, etc.) as we allow bare feet on the mats only and they are easier to slip on and off than a pair of shoes.

If you have them, please also bring a pair of handwraps and gloves, but don’t worry if you don’t as all equipment is provided at our Wednesday and Saturday classes.

If you are coming to our intermediate/advanced classes, then you will need your own handwraps, gloves, and shinguards. Please also bring a mouthguard if you want to spar.

  • Yes! We encourage everyone to take the class at their own pace. We will provide scaled-down versions of all exercises and encourage you to rest where needed. Whilst we want you to push yourself, you know your body far better than we do so please listen to it!

  • Abso-bloody-lutely! We cater for all abilities in our Wednesday and Saturday classes, and there are usually a lot of beginners in our classes so you won’t be alone. The atmosphere is super friendly and the coach (Ash) and our more experienced members will always be on hand to help. Come with an open mind and we promise you will love it!

  • There are free road parking spaces available in the surrounding area close to the studios in the evenings and on the weekends.

Please ensure you read the parking signs carefully to ensure that a road is free at the time you are parking - we cannot take any responsibility if you receive a ticket!

  • There aren’t specific bike parking spaces outside, but please feel free to bring your bike into the studio whilst you train!

  • If you have any other questions, please feel free to get in touch with us via our Facebook or Instagram pages - you can access these by clicking on the Facebook or Instagram icons at the bottom of this page.
